Star Energy Oiltanking requires contractors who work on our site to comply with our HSSE policy and our Contractor Safety procedures as well as to adhere to our “Golden HSSE Rules”. Star Energy Oiltanking regularly monitors their performance while on the job. Together, Star Energy Oiltanking and its contractors strive for excellence in health, safety and environmental performance.
Star Energy Oiltanking uses a web-based tool, the Contractor Management Database (CMDB), to manage, evaluate and qualify all contractors who perform work at our facility. Contractors are required to subscribe to the online CMDB questionnaire and maintain their subscription as a condition of work authorization. If using sub-contractor employee(s), the primary contractor must have a Sub-contractor Management Plan in place to manage the safety of sub-contractor employees. All individual requirements such as Safety Trainings, Site Specific Induction & acceptance of our Drug & Alcohol policy apply to both primary contractor employee(s) and any sub-contractor employee(s).
Contractors are assigned a grade based on an assessment of their HSSE management program details as entered into CMDB. This assessment takes into account key components including: HSSE Performance, HSSE Programs, HSSE Culture, HSSE Training, Corporate Policies, KPI Reporting and Insurance.
