Star Energy Oiltanking is a joint venture between the Star Energy Group Ltd., one of the first private investors in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai, UAE, and Oiltanking GmbH, one of the world’s leading independent storage providers for oil, chemicals and gases.

The Abu Dhabi based Star Energy Group Ltd. was established in 1983 by three UAE astute businessmen to provide services in international trading, transportation, storage and marketing of products. As part of the group’s strategic vision to create assets integral to the petroleum products business, Star Energy Oiltanking was established in 1986.

In 2004 Oiltanking GmbH acquired a 25% share of Star Energy Oiltanking. and since then the terminal operates under the marketing name “Star Energy Oiltanking”.

Today, Star Energy Oiltanking is a 50/50 joint venture between the Star Energy Group Ltd. and Oiltanking GmbH, managed in line with the global standards of Oiltanking.

Oiltanking GmbH, founded in 1972, is one of the world’s leading independent storage providers with 81 terminals in 23 countries and a total storage capacity exceeding 21 million cbm.
